By now most everyone has returned their Halloween costumes to the rental shop. Over in Utah's Provo Valley, a couple of hikers are really hoping I'm wrong about that. While walking through the woods they stopped to take a video of what they thought was a black bear. When the thing suddenly assumed an upright, ape-like posture, our boys ran like hell.
It took about five seconds for this vid (click here for clip) to go viral, and I'll admit it got my attention, too. Is it definitive proof of a Utah Bigfoot? That's a big fat no. What do we really see here, behind a tightly woven stand of trees? The general shape is a fit for the Bigfoot identikit, but that's all we've got. I love how everbody's all "the hikers' reaction is so authentic! They don't overact or stick around to get a clear shot!" Yeah, a lot of the hoax videos we see could compete with a Pauly Shore flick for a Razzie Award. A dearth of overt fakery does not a genuine sighting make.
Let's not forget that the hoaxee isn't always in on the hoax. These hikers could be totally legit. Doesn't mean the creature is, too.
