A couple of months ago I was up in Canada investigating rumors of a lake monster. Wish I could say the trip was a success, but the beast eluded me...this time. That said, the country didn't disappoint, and it appears that a certain biologist I know was right all along.
Sturgeon can be frickin' huge.
According to the Toronto Sun, a couple from England recently went fishing in B.C.'s Fraser River and caught a Great White Sturgeon weighing 1,100 pounds. The thing was over 12 feet long and, by most estimates, more than 100 years old.
The fact that a creature this utterly massive can still swim around undetected supports the validity of cryptozoological claims. I think we can all agree there's a lot more out there than we could possibly imagine.
And it could be pretty damn huge.
